Nähanleitung Bluse Lilly

Sewing instructions for blouse Lilly

The Lilly blouse pattern immediately catches the eye with its sophisticated neckline and front pleat. As a long-sleeved blouse, Lilly is perfect for the transitional seasons, and depending on the fabric design, it complements your business or casual look perfectly. The blouse 's shape is casual, wide, and doesn't restrict movement, making it easy to combine with skirts or jeans.

Length at the back center = 63-71cm

In this tutorial, Lilly was sewn from a fine cotton fabric.

Required materials:

We recommend a soft, flowing viscose, polyester or silk fabric.

Size 34-40 Outer fabric 1.30 m 140 cm wide
Size 42-50 Outer fabric 1.75 m 140 cm wide
Size 34-50 insert 0.70 m 0.8 cm wide

Cutting:

Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as per marking clips!

Cut out the pattern pieces from your outer fabric and interfacing . Place the selvedges parallel to the center so that you can place the front and back pieces on the fold. The pattern pieces should all be laid with the writing facing up. Always align the grain arrow on all pieces in the same direction and parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. Transfer all notches from the pattern by making a 3mm long slit with scissors or chalk and mark the ends of the darts . Notch the seam allowance along the fold, as this is always the center. It's best to cut all outer fabric pieces that will be completely covered with interfacing roughly first. After you have secured the interfacing, cut it out precisely. (There is also a video here on gluing and securing pattern pieces.) For working with yokes, we can recommend the crearesa tutorial .

You will need fabric:

  • 1x front part in the fracture
  • 1x lower back part in the break
  • 2x pass in the fraction
  • 1x sleeve opposite
  • 1x receipt in fraction

also with insert:

  • 1x receipt

Sewing instructions:

Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as per marking clips!

To sew this blouse you will need a sewing machine and an overlock sewing machine, or alternatively the zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to neaten the cut edges.

In addition to the description, the colored lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something needs to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern.
Have fun sewing!

After cutting, iron the front facing onto the iron-on interfacing.

Neaten the 3 outer edges of the facing and iron it inwards close to the edge and stitch it in place.

Pin the facing right sides together to the front neckline and sew it in place.

Once you've reached one of the two corners, leave the needle in the fabric, raise the presser foot, and turn the fabric to face the right way. Then you can continue sewing. Clip these corners in until just before the seam and press the facing to the wrong front side, creating a clean ironed/seamed edge.

Fold the seam toward the facing and stitch it close to the edge. This will flatten the seam without leaving any visible seam on the outside.

This is what it looks like from the inside…

… and so on from the outside.

Now place the front fold as follows (here: the corresponding places have been marked with pins):

At the location of the right needle, fold the left side of your blouse right sides together. Hold this firmly in place. Then, using the needle that is now on the right (previously the left needle), fold the blouse piece back over.

Pin this area.

Sew horizontally over these layers of fabric several times.

This way the fold is well fixed.

Then it's time for the darts: Transfer the markings for the darts to the front piece.

Place the two side pins right sides together and pin them in place. The left pin indicates where the dart should end.

Sew the two darts with your sewing machine, and when you get close to the end, choose a very small straight stitch so you don't need to tack the seam. Fold the darts upward, iron them, and pin them in place for later.

Two pleats are provided on the back piece. To do this, transfer the markings from the pattern.

Place the two markers right sides together and fold the resulting back pleat in the direction indicated by the pattern. Pin both pleats securely. You can secure them with a short stitch within the seam allowance.

Place both pieces of the yoke, right sides together, around the lower back piece. Sew these three layers of fabric together.

Iron the seam allowance upward toward the yoke. If desired, you can topstitch it close to the edge.

Place the front of your blouse on the back piece, right sides together, so that the shoulders of the front piece are flush with those of the back piece. The shoulders of the back piece overlap by 1cm on the inside for a seam allowance.

Pin the shoulder seams of the front piece ONLY with the outside yoke.

Now pull the inner yoke from the bottom right over the front piece, …

… so that this shoulder seam lies on the right side.

Roll the rest of the blouse into a tube and pull the other shoulder seam of the inside yoke to the left shoulder seam.

Now close both shoulder seams and the neckline in one go. Make sure not to sew the rest of the blouse on.

Carefully pull the blouse out of the opening and turn it right side out. Iron it neatly. You'll now have a neat finish at the top, with no visible raw edges.

Place the front piece right sides together on the back piece again and close the side seams.

Neaten the hem of your blouse and press it inward twice by 1 cm. Stitch the hem close to the edge.

Place the sleeve right sides together and close the side seam.

Neaten the sleeve hem and press it inward twice by 1 cm. Stitch the hem close to the edge.

Place the blouse inside out, with the sleeve on the right side. Place the sleeve inside the blouse, right sides together, so the side seams line up exactly.

Sew the armhole all the way around. Repeat these steps on the other side of the blouse.

This is what your hems look like.
