Nähanleitung Bluse Milla

Sewing instructions for the Milla blouse

Do you love the 70s? Then you'll absolutely love the Milla blouse . The wide sleeves and gathered underbust give this tunic a certain hippie-blouse touch. The slit in the center front extends to the dividing seam and can be neatly closed using the narrow ribbon that extends from the front collar edge. This women's blouse is actually easy to sew, only the stand-up collar requires a bit of practice.

Length at the center back = 71 – 74 cm.

Milla was sewn from a lace fabric in this tutorial.

Required materials:

We recommend a flowing silk, viscose or cotton voile .

Size 34-42 Material 1.60 m 140 cm wide
Size 44-50 Material 1.90 m 140 cm wide

Cutting:

Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as per marking clips!

Cut the pattern pieces from your fabric. Position the selvedges parallel to the center so you can place the pattern pieces on the fold. All pattern pieces should be placed with the lettering facing up. Always align the grain arrow on all pieces in the same direction and parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. Transfer all notches from the pattern by making a 3mm cut with scissors or chalk. Notch the seam allowance along the fold, as this is always the center.

You will need fabric:

  • 2x front part, opposite
  • 1x back part in the fracture
  • 1x front part at the bottom of the fold
  • 1x back part at the bottom of the fold
  • 2x sleeves, opposite
  • 2x collar stand in the fold (with insert for opaque fabric)
  • 2x tape

Sewing instructions:

Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as per marking clips!

To sew this blouse, you will need a sewing machine and an overlocker. Alternatively, you can use your sewing machine's zigzag stitch to neaten the raw edges. Use a fine sewing needle (70 gauge) that matches your fabric selection. The colored lines in the images, in addition to the description, show you where to sew a seam. When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern. Seam allowances not specifically marked are 1 cm wide.

Have fun sewing! If you've chosen a lace fabric, start by topstitching the armholes, neckline, and front shoulder. This prevents the material from stretching. Gather the bottom pieces between the notches to match the top pieces. To do this, choose a large stitch and topstitch at 0.7 cm and 1.2 cm. Pull on the loose ends and push the fabric together to the desired length. When sewing the top piece together, sew between the two stitchings and undo the bottom stitching for the gathers. To create the slit in the center front, sew the front pieces together, right sides together, approximately 3 cm from the bottom edge. Fold the slit edges under twice 0.7 cm and topstitch at 0.5 cm.

Sew the back pieces together (between the two gathers) and neaten the seam allowances. Repeat the same process with the front pieces.

Place the front and back pieces right sides together and sew the side seams with a 1.5 cm seam allowance. Neaten these seams together again.

Then close the shoulder seams with a 1 cm seam allowance and neaten these as well.

Iron the ribbon lengthwise into the fold. Fold the bottom end under 1 cm, then iron the long edges and place the ribbon into the fold. Stitch the ribbon close to the edge.

Place the collar stays right sides together and tuck the open ends of the ribbons between the notches at the center front. Sew the stays together along the top edge, securing the ties.

Pin the right side of the collar stand to the wrong side of the bodice and sew the collar stand on with a 1 cm seam allowance. Note the notches for the center back and shoulders.

Now the collar stand needs to be sewn on from the outside. To do this, fold the 1 cm seam allowance inward and stitch just along the edge.

Fold the hem twice 0.7 cm and stitch it through at 0.5 cm.

Sew the side seams of the sleeves right sides together with a 1.5 cm seam allowance and neaten the seam allowance.

The sleeve hem is also folded over twice by 0.7 cm and stitched through at 0.5 cm. Finally, sew the sleeves into the correct armholes using the notches and neaten the seam allowances.
