Nähanleitung Cape “Ginger”

Sewing Instructions Cape “Ginger”

Sewing can be so easy, especially when it's just one piece, which is the case with our Cape Ginger . You don't need more than a rectangle and a seam to sew the perfect companion for cool autumn days. Whether casually over a dress or stylishly with a shirt , your shoulders will definitely not get cold.

In these instructions, the Cape Ginger was sewn from a gabardine fabric.

Required material:

We recommend a flowing wool or knit . Please note that the amount of fabric makes two capes.

Size 34-50 outer fabric 1.80 m 140cm wide

cutting:

Cut out the pattern pieces from your fabric . Lay the selvedges parallel to the center so you can hang up in the fold. The pattern pieces should all be face up. Always align the grain arrow on all pieces in the same direction and parallel to the selvage of the fabric. Transfer all the notches from the pattern through a 3mm long incision with scissors or chalk. Pinch the seam allowance in the fold of the fabric because this is always a center.

You need:

  • 1 rectangle in fracture

Sewing instructions:

To sew this cape you need a sewing machine and an overlock sewing machine, alternatively you can use the zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to finish the raw edges.

In addition to the description, the colorful lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern.
Happy sewing! First you have to serge all sides of the rectangle with the serger. Then you fold the rectangle back in the middle (at the fold) and sew the still "open" side (opening) together from the end to the marked notch, so that only the opening for the head remains. Now you have to iron this seam apart.

Next you can fold in the seam allowance at the opening by 1cm... ... and stitch firmly. Finally, all you have to do is turn over the two short ends and one long side, which will later form the hem, by 1 cm and stitch, this creates a clean edge.

Your GINGER is ready!
