Nähanleitung Pullover Pamela

Sewing instructions for Pamela sweater

When the days get shorter again and you need a cozy, warm sweater, we're sure you'll love the Pamela pattern. The wide, loose shape isn't constricting anywhere, but the bust dart ensures a great fit. The highlight, however, is the large, wide turtleneck, which can be folded down or simply collapsed. This creates a beautiful neckline that also leaves enough room to comfortably slip it on. Center back length = 62-68 cm.

The casual turtleneck sweater Pamela from this pattern was sewn from a sweat fabric.

  • 1x back part in the fracture
  • 1x sleeve opposite
  • 1x front collar in the fold
  • 1x rear collar in the break
  • 1 piece of ribbon (here velvet ribbon)

Sewing instructions:

Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as per marking clips!

You begin by sewing the bust darts, which are only included in sizes 42-50. After accurately transferring the pattern and paying close attention to the markings, a simple, straight dart is sewn on the wrong side of the fabric, notch by notch, tapering nicely from the widest point to the tip. (with it  Close and sew the dart (the dart doesn't bunch up). Draw a line with tailor's chalk beforehand so that you don't over-stitch or under-stitch and the side seam ends nicely and straight.
So that you don't have to lock the tip, you can sew the last centimeter with a very small stitch.

Place the front piece right sides together on the back piece and close both the shoulder and side seams.

Fold one sleeve in half, right sides together, and close the arm seam. Repeat with the other sleeve.

Using the notches, place the matching sleeve into the sweater, right sides together, and close the sleeve cap all the way around. Repeat this on the other side.

Neaten the hem of both the sleeve and the sweater all the way around, then press the hem inward 3cm. Stitch the hems close to the edge.

Place the two collar pieces right sides together and close the side seams.

Turn the collar right side out and fold it in half vertically, so that the seams you just closed are hidden inside. Fold the collar over the sweater so that its shoulder seams meet the side seams of the collar (marked here with staples) and all three open edges overlap.

Sew all three layers of fabric together.

A shaping band is sewn onto the back collar to stabilize the sweater. Sew the shaping band to the back collar seam within the seam allowance.

To do this, fold one open side inward 1cm and begin stitching the band from the shoulder seam to just before the other shoulder seam. Fold the open edge inward again 1cm and secure the seam at the end.

This is what it looks like when sewn on.
