Many of you love simple and quickly sewn garments. Our sweater pony hat fits exactly into this category. The pullover has a rather narrow silhouette, overlong sleeves and a boat neckline with a waterfall effect in the front. In order for you to be able to implement this effect ideally, you should use a softly falling fabric. Center back length = 58-65 cm.
The chic sweater pony hat with a slight waterfall neckline was sewn from a viscose jersey in these instructions.

sewing instructions
Neat the top edges of the front and back pieces.
Place the front piece on the back piece, right sides together, and sew the shoulder seam and the top flap.
For this stitch, it's important to use your regular sewing machine so that when you get to the corner, you can leave the needle in the fabric, lift the presser foot, and position the fabric. So you get a nice corner.
Cut a clip at the corner just before the seam.
The back piece is now lying in front of you with the wrong side of the fabric facing up. Then fold the top flap over the shoulder seam up to the corner so that the two seams are exactly on top of each other. Sew them back onto the seam.
If you're using a soft knit fabric, it's a good idea to sew the shaping tape onto this seam so that the seam of the sweater is stabilized and doesn't sag later.
Now the collar automatically lies down nicely when you turn it and you don't see any visible seam from above either.
Sew the side seams of the sweater right sides together.
Place the sleeve right sides together and sew the inner arm seam.
Depending on the fabric, it may be advisable to overcast the hem. Iron it inwards by 3cm and stitch it in place.
Do the same for the other sleeve and the hem of the sweater.
Turn the sweater inside out again, leaving the sleeves right side out. Mark the upper center of the sleeve and the inner arm seam. In the next step, these meet the shoulder seam and the side seam of the sweater.
Tuck the matching sleeve into the armhole, right sides together, and sew all the way around. Repeat with the other sleeve.
Congratulations, your sweater pony hat is finished!
