Nähanleitung Hose Arifa

Sewing instructions for Arifa trousers

The Arifa harem pants pattern is our modern take on this oriental classic, not too wide and not too low in the crotch. They're super comfortable and can be worn as yoga pants, too. Choose a soft, flowing jersey for this pattern and you'll have another favorite piece for your wardrobe. We recommend a flowing fabric like silk, jersey, or Tencel, and a stretchy ribbed fabric for the cuffs.

In this example, the casual Arifa trousers were sewn from viscose with elastane.

Sewing instructions

Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as per marking clips!

First, place the two trouser pieces right sides together and close both the side and crotch seams. Fold the leg ends in half, right sides together, and close the side seam.

Turn the cuff inside out so that the right side is on the outside and the seam you just closed is on the inside. Place the cuff, right sides together, into the leg opening. Sew the cuff in place, pulling evenly.

Place the hem band right sides together so that the side seams line up exactly. Copy the markings for the pleats on the back hem band. Fold them into pleats.

Then close the side seam of the waistband.

Turn the ties by folding them in half lengthwise and sewing them together along the long edge and the bottom hem. Turn them through the top, open edge. Fold the open edges inward by 1 cm.

Pin both ties to the back hem band, facing opposite each other. Sew them along the back seam of the waistband.

This is what they look like sewn on.
