Ikarus is a basic top with a slim fit and round neckline. The dividing seams in the front allow you to play with colors and materials and reuse your leftover materials. Of course, the divisions can also be put together and, depending on your wishes and preference, you can then sew a classic sweater .
Length in the middle back = 60 – 65 cm
In these instructions Icarus was sewn from a sweatshirt.
Required material:
We recommend jersey and faux leather (washable) for the front part to mix.

Cutting:
Cut the pattern pieces from your outer fabrics . Lay the fabric right side up. Place the selvedges parallel to the center so that you can place the back piece on the fold. The pattern pieces should all lie face up. Always align the thread up arrow on all pieces in the same direction and parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. Transfer all the clippings from the pattern through a 3mm long incision with scissors or chalk . Clip the seam allowance in the fabric fold because this is always a center. Markings define positions of dart ends , pocket positions, and much more. Transfer these either with chalk or a pin . 
What you need from fabric:
- 1x back part in the break
- 2x sleeves in opposite directions
- 1x waistband
- 2x cuffs
- 1x front right
- 1x front left
- 1x front center
Sewing instructions:
To sew this sweater you will need a sewing machine and an overlock sewing machine, or alternatively the zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to neaten the raw edges.
Be sure to use a jersey needle and use a stretchy stitch, i.e. if you are sewing with a household sewing machine, you should use either a zigzag stitch or the three-part elastic stitch and then all seam allowances again with a zigzag stitch or another appropriate stitch Neaten so they don't fray. In addition to the description, the colorful lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something needs to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern. Seam allowances that are not specifically marked are 1cm wide!
Have fun sewing! 
Start your sewing work with all cuffs. Sew them together, right sides together, iron the seam allowances apart and iron the fold right sides together. 
To additionally secure both layers of fabric together, we sewed an auxiliary seam the width of a quilting foot all around. 
Now take the right and middle front pieces and close the first dividing seam right sides together. Finish the seam allowances together and then iron them down.

You also place the left front piece, right sides together, on the previously prepared front piece. Stitch both together and finish the seam allowances, then iron them down. 
Here too, you stitch the ironed seam allowance flat, close to the edge.

Now place your front piece on the back piece, right sides together, and close both side seams. Pay attention to the seam allowances in the pattern. Then neaten the seam allowances together and iron them backwards. 
Also sew the shoulder seams together. Finish the seam allowances together and press them backwards. 
Now let's move on to the sleeves, which you place on top of each other right sides together and sew together. Finish the seam allowances together and iron them backwards. 
The prepared cuff can now be stretched right sides together to fit the sleeve hem. Finish the seam allowances together and press them up. 
Sew the finished sleeve into the correct armhole, right sides together. Pay attention to the markings on the cut. 
You also place the neck cuff right sides together in the neck hole and stretch it a little while sewing. Finish the seam allowances together and then press them down. 
Stitch the seam flat, close to the edge. 
You also sew the prepared cuff for the hem to the body, right sides together, and neaten the seam allowances.
Your IKARUS is ready !
