Everyone has their own strategy for saving on heating costs, our answer is: Vicki. The foot warmer keeps your feet and calves warm during the day in the home office as well as in the evening on the sofa. The outer layer of imitation leather can be easily wiped off on the underside and the teddy fabric and thick cotton wool ensure cuddly warm feet.
Size 25x34x38cm
In these instructions, Vicki was sewn from artificial leather and a teddy plush.
Required material:
We recommend artificial leather on the outside and plush on the inside.
One size fits all
- Imitation leather 0.80 m (140 cm wide)
- Plush 0.80 m (140 cm wide)
- Wadding 0.80 m (140 cm wide)
cutting:
Cut out the pattern pieces from your outer fabric, inner fabric and cotton wool. Lay the fabric right side up. The pattern pieces should all be face up. Always align the grain arrow on all pieces in the same direction and parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. Transfer all the notches from the pattern through a 3mm long incision with scissors or chalk. Markings define positions of dart ends, pocket positions, etc. Transfer these either with chalk or pins.
If you want to make your Vicki out of corduroy, note that corduroy is cut against the grain. We have a video for you about this.
If you want to make your Vicki out of plaid fabric, Dagmar will show you how best to cut plaid fabric in this video.

Sewing instructions:
You need a sewing machine to sew this footmuff.
In addition to the description, the colorful lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern. Seam allowances that are not specially marked are 1 cm wide!
Happy sewing!
Sew the leather pieces together right sides together.
The side pieces come right sides together with the front piece.
If you want to use cotton wool, process the cotton wool like the faux leather.
The side pieces come right sides together with the front piece.
Also process the inner plush fabric such as the faux leather and cotton.
The side pieces come right sides together with the front piece.
Fold the inner plush fabric into the cotton.
Put cotton wool and plush in the imitation leather bag and secure all layers with a seam the width of a quilting foot. So the cotton lies between plush and faux leather.
Lay the leather binding, ironed in the fold and closed in the round, right sides together on the inner fabric and stitch it in place.
Turn the ribbon inside out and stitch it from the inside in the shadow of the seam.
This is what the finished edging looks like. Finally, fold the top piece inside out to reveal the plush.
