Sewing instructions for Odette trousers
shares
Wide, airy trousers are ideal for the warmer seasons, so we've developed a stylish culotte pattern for you. These trousers feature a completely new silhouette, very unusual after all the tight skinny pants, but fashion thrives on new styles. We were a bit hesitant about them for a while, but now the culotte is a staple in our summer wardrobe. With details on the waistband, like the double stand-up waistband that rises like a ruffle at the back, and the tie on the left front, which you can use to adjust the waist, you're sure to feel comfortable. The inseam is 57-53 cm.
The wide-cut Odette trousers are sewn from a polyester satin.

Sewing instructions
Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as per marking clips!
Transfer the pleat markings to your front trouser pieces. Start with the left pin and place it over the next pin, forming a pleat on the inside. Position the pleat in the direction indicated by the pattern and pin it securely. Repeat this process for the other pleats.
Feel free to stitch the pleats inside the seam allowance. Transfer the pocket markings to all four trouser pieces.
Place each pocket piece right sides together on each trouser piece and close the seam, leaving 1cm gap at the top and bottom. Bar tack the seam. Sew the two front trouser pieces and the two back trouser pieces together at the crotch seam, right sides together (red clips).
Then place the front trousers on the back trousers, right sides together, and close the side seam by sewing from the waistband to the beginning of the pocket seam, then around the pocket pouch and along the remaining side seam to the hem. For fraying fabrics, it's recommended to finish the seams with an overlock.
Following the side seams, sew the inseam from the hem of one leg over the crotch (seam allowances facing in opposite directions, blue clip) to the other hem. Neaten both leg ends.
Then fold the hem inward twice, 1 cm each, and stitch it in place. This completes the leg hems.
Now it's time for the ties. Fold them in half vertically, right sides together, and sew the long edge and one of the two side seams. Turn them through the open side seam and iron them flat. Pin one front waistband piece to the other back waistband piece, right sides together, and sew the side seams together.
On the second piece, tuck the left tie into what will be the left side seam, ensuring it's sewn in place. Fold the upper waistband piece in half lengthwise, right sides together, and close the side seam.
Now, with the right sides together, tuck the upper waistband between the two lower waistband pieces. Its seam should meet the center back of the lower waistband pieces. Sew all four layers of fabric all the way around the top edge. Make sure you don't sew the left tie in any other way.
Turn the entire waistband right side out and stitch the newly closed seam close to the edge so that the top waistband "stands up" like a ruffle. Here you can see the left side seam with the tie.
Pin the entire waistband, right sides together, to the top edge of your pants, so that the side seams, as well as the center back and center front seams, meet. Leave an opening about 5 cm wide at this seam. Use a safety pin to thread your elastic through this opening.
Sew the two ends of the ribbon together securely. Make sure it isn't twisted on the inside. Fold the open edge of the front tie inward by 1cm...
… and stitch this onto the center front of the lower waistband.
