WHEN THE SEAM ALLOWANCE PUSHES OUT

If the seam allowance pushes through on special fabrics after ironing, there are various ways to get rid of what has been ironed in. Here we show you what we use. This is a fleece-like rectangle that we push under the seam allowances and then iron over it. You can also use normal cardboard or strong paper.

Especially with bust darts, a pushed-through seam allowance is not particularly nice.

Another variant would be to iron the dart, fold it up and then iron it again underneath.

Have lots of fun with it
