Sewing instructions for blouse Bea
Partager
Level : for beginners
Bea was sewn from a thin cotton print in this tutorial.
Materials needed:
We recommend a flowing fabric such as silk , viscose , or polyester chiffon.
Sizes 34-38 : Outer fabric 1.60m (140cm wide)
Sizes 40-44 : Outer fabric 1.70m (140cm wide)
Sizes 46-50 : Outer fabric 1.80m (140cm wide)
Cut:
Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as indicated by the marking notches!
Cut out the pattern pieces from your outer fabric. Place the fabric right side up. Align the selvedges parallel to the center so you can lay out the back piece, collar stand, undercollar, and upper collar on the fold. All pattern pieces should be laid with the printed side facing up. Always align the grainline arrow in the same direction on all pieces, parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. Transfer all notches from the pattern by making a 3mm snip with scissors or using chalk. Snip the seam allowance on the fold, as this is always the center point.

You will need the following fabric:
- 1x front/back piece on the fold
- 1x Band Neck Hole
- 2x Band Armhole

First, sew the side seams together, right sides facing. Finish the seam allowances together and press them towards the front.
Now it's time to plug the holes ;-)
You have a total of 3 strips for the armholes and the neckline. Sew them together along the short sides, right sides facing.

Next, iron the seam allowance in one direction, then iron the strips (or now circles) in half lengthwise. The fabric is now doubled and the strips are only 2cm wide.

You sew the strip right sides together into the neckline.

Then you iron the seam allowance together with the strip to the inside.

Then, from the inside, stitch the strip very close to the folded edge of the strip.

You repeat exactly the same steps for the armholes:
Sew the strips together, right sides facing....

...iron inwards...

...stitch from the inside.

You're almost there!
The hem is folded over twice by 0.7cm and stitched down.
Your BEA is finished.
