The pattern for the short-sleeved blouse Ema is a beautiful and casual mix of a classic blouse and an airy T-shirt. The ruffles at the wide neckline and hem give the blouse its loose width. The short, narrow sleeves and the wide neckline give the blouse a feminine look. We recommend a flowing fabric such as cotton, viscose or silk.
In this example, the short-sleeved blouse Ema with the ruffled neckline was sewn from a fine cotton fabric.

Cut the pattern pieces out of fabric and transfer the notches from the pattern.

Transfer the snaps from the pattern to your front and back pieces so you know which area to ruffle. Here it is marked with red brackets.
Use the longest straight stitch on your sewing machine and sew your seam inside the seam allowance. With a gap of about 2mm, sew a second seam with the same stitch length inside the seam allowance.
Instead of backstacking the seams, you hold the top threads and gradually pull the bottom threads from both sides, causing the fabric to pucker. You can find the desired length in the pattern. Once you have reached this, knot the threads on both sides and distribute the gathering evenly between them.
Place the back piece on the front piece right sides together and sew the shoulder seams (red staples) first and then the side seams.
Fold the arm hem inwards twice by 1.5cm and iron the hem flat. Pin this down.
Sew the side seams of the sleeves right sides together. Fold the seam allowance inside to one side and topstitch it with a few stitches, so the thread bead is sewn cleanly.
Tuck the sleeve into the armhole, right sides together, and sew up the seam. Fold the hem of your blouse in twice by 1cm and iron it in place. Stitch the hem tight, but leave about 3cm open near a side seam.
The rubber band is pulled through this opening using a safety pin. Once you are completely through, sew the two rubber ends together well. Make sure the rubber is not twisted. The opening of the hem seam is then closed.
Iron the non-woven fabric onto the wrong side of the fabric according to the manufacturer's instructions. Sew the shoulder seams of the facings right sides together.
Pin the facing to the neckline, right sides together, so that the respective shoulder seams meet and sew this seam. Then cut back the seam allowance and clip it in so that the curve lies down better. Neat the inside edge of the receipt. You can use your serger or a zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to do this.
Then fold this seam inwards and stitch it with the sewing machine. You can sew it to the blouse in the area of the shoulder seam with a few stitches so that the lining does not bend outwards later when you put it on.
