Sewing can be so easy, especially when it only consists of one pattern piece, which is the case with our Cape Ginger . You don't need more than a rectangle and a seam to sew the perfect companion for cool autumn days. Whether casual over a dress or stylish with a shirt , your shoulders will definitely not get cold.
The Cape Ginger in this pattern was sewn from a gabardine fabric.
Required material:
We recommend a flowing wool or knit . Please note that the amount of fabric makes two capes.

Cutting:
Cut the pattern pieces out of your fabric . Place the selvedges parallel to the center so that you can lay on the fold. The pattern pieces should all lie face up. Always align the thread arrow in the same direction on all pieces and parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. Transfer all the clippings from the pattern through a 3mm long incision with scissors or chalk. Clip the seam allowance in the fabric fold because this is always a center.

Sewing instructions:
To sew this cape you will need a sewing machine and an overlock sewing machine, or alternatively the zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to neaten the cut edges.
In addition to the description, the colorful lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something needs to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern.
Have fun sewing! 
First you have to overlock all sides of the rectangle with the overlocker. 
Then fold the rectangle in half again (at the break) and sew on the still “open” side (opening) from the end to the marked clip, so that only the opening for the head remains. 
You now have to iron this seam apart. 
Next you can fold in the seam allowance at the opening by 1cm... 
... and quilt firmly. 
Finally, all you have to do is fold over the two short ends and one long side, which will later form the hem, by 1cm and topstitch them to create a clean edge.
