Nähanleitung für das Kleid Ava

Sewing instructions for the dress Ava

A beautiful summer dress made with just 3 pattern pieces. The Ava dress pattern looks great with its waterfall neckline and is easy to sew, even for beginners. A wide tie keeps the dress nicely in place at the waist. Center back length = 96-102 cm.

The Ava dress is a beautiful summer dress with a waterfall neckline and a wide tie belt around the waist. This example is sewn from a flowing cotton fabric.

Required materials:

We recommend a flowing fabric such as viscose or silk, opaque, as the dress is not lined.

  • Sizes 34-40: Outer fabric 2.35m (140cm wide)
  • Sizes 42-46: Outer fabric 2.60m (140cm wide)
  • Sizes 48-50: Outer fabric 3.30m (140cm wide)

Cut out the pattern pieces from fabric and transfer the notches from the pattern. The colored clips in the pictures, in addition to the description, show you where to sew a seam.

  • 1x front part in the fold
  • 1x back part in the fracture
  • 1x back receipt
  • 1x middle part belt in the break
  • 1x side part belt opposite

Sewing instructions:

Seam allowances are included - 1cm wide or as per marking clips!

Neaten the bottom edge of the back facing and the top edge of the front.

Iron both front facings inward and stitch them close to the edge. Place the back facing right sides together on the back and close the armholes and neck seam (blue clips). Leave the shoulder seams open. Turn the back right side out again and iron the seams neatly.

Fold the front facing down onto the front, right sides together, following the pattern markings, and close the armholes (blue clips). Turn the front right side out again and press the seams neatly. Place the back on the front, right sides together, and close both shoulder seams. Don't forget to neaten this front seam as well.

Next, sew the side seams of the dress, right sides together. If you like, you can flatstitch the armhole seams and the neck seam. This means that on the wrong side, you simply place the seams toward the facing and stitch them there, without the seam being visible on the outer fabric.

Fold the hem of your dress inward twice by 1.5 cm, iron it, and stitch it in place. Now it's time for the belt. Use pins to transfer the pattern markings for the pleats to the center piece. The belt will have four pleats in total.

Place one pin on top of the other, forming a fold at the back. Place this fold in the direction indicated by the arrow on the pattern. Pin the fold securely and repeat this process for the other three marks.

This is what one side of the center piece looks like. Place one side piece of the belt on top, right sides together, and close the seam. Repeat this on the other side.

Then iron the entire belt in half lengthwise, right sides together, and close the open edges. Leave a small opening in the middle for turning.

Then wrap the belt around your dress, placing the center piece on the front. Tie the side pieces once across the back in a bow at the front.
