Nähanleitung Rock “Quinta”

Sewing Instructions Skirt “Quinta”

You can never have enough simple summer skirts that look great. Quinta is sewn quickly, this is mainly due to the elastic waistband, the most noticeable detail is the “zip” hem, meaning the sides are a lot longer than the front and center back. In addition, the side seams have open slits and the hem forms a wide panel that can be easily contrasted with a contrasting fabric.

Length in the center front 57-61cm

In these instructions, the Quinta was sewn from a jersey and a polyester satin as a panel.

Required material:

We recommend flowing fabrics, such as polyester satin, viscose, silk, but also modal jerseys.

Size 34-50 Main fabric 1.20 m 140cm wide
Size 34-50 Contrast fabric/panel 0.50 m 140cm wide
Size 34-50 Rubber band 62-100cm 4cm wide

To sew this skirt you will need a sewing machine and an overlock sewing machine, or alternatively the zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to neaten the cut edges.

In addition to the description, the colorful lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something needs to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern.
Have fun sewing!

First you take the skirt pieces. There are two pleats in each skirt part. Place the clip that is closer to the center of the skirt on top of the clip next to it. The fold contents face the center and the folds are 2cm wide. Now sew the four folds onto the seam allowance. Then take the skirt and overcast the four side seams.

Then neaten the straight edges on the four pocket bags (here: marked in yellow).

Place a finished pocket bag on each side seam of the skirt, right sides together. You sew these together at 0.7cm from the waistband to the bottom clip. Lock well.

Now it's time to close the bag bags. To do this, place the skirt pieces and pocket bags on top of each other, right sides together, and sew the pocket bag closed (here: see yellow line). Finish the seam allowance of the bag together.

Now all you have to do is close the side seams. The yellow lines in the picture show you the sewing lines. You have to close the side seam from clip to clip because there is a slit at the hem. You can only close the short piece on the waistband up to the clip, otherwise you would sew the pocket opening closed. Iron the side seam apart. We continue with the approach strips. Fold these together lengthways and sew the slanted sides together. Then turn and iron.

Now attach the finished stripes to the skirt. Don't be surprised that the stripe is a little shorter than the edge of the skirt. You should sew the strip between the clips (there will be 2cm overhang on the left and right). Press the seam upwards and neaten the seam allowance together.

Fold the 2cm that sticks out twice and iron it flat.

Now sew the seam allowance from the slit. You can do this in one seam (here: yellow line indicates stitching).

Fold both pocket bags into the front and pin them to the waistband with a pin. You can finish the seam allowance of the waistband in a circle.

For the waistband you need an approx. 4cm wide elastic band. You cut this to size according to the pattern piece. Sew the ends of the ribbon together and finish the seam allowance.

You then pin the elastic band to the waistband so that the fullness is evenly distributed and sew it in place.

Finally, just iron the seam allowance down.
