Wrap dresses, like our Marie pattern, are so wonderfully easy to wear, they don't stretch or pinch anywhere and follow every movement without any problems. The Marie dress is particularly suitable for all women who have a little more curves. The wrapped straps do not emphasize the body shapes too much, so the dress looks feminine and dressed. The women's dress is not difficult to sew, but requires some experience in handling and reading patterns. You will also find a video in this post.

The Marie in these instructions was sewn from a soft modal jersey.
Required material:
We recommend a flowing jersey fabric with a percentage of elastane.

Cutting:
Cut the pattern pieces out of your fabric . The pattern pieces should all lie face up. Always align the thread arrow in the same direction on all pieces and parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. Transfer all the clips from the pattern through a 3mm long incision with scissors or chalk and mark the ends of the darts. Clip the seam allowance in the fabric fold because this is always a center. 
To sew this dress you will need a sewing machine and an overlock sewing machine, or alternatively the zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to neaten the raw edges.
Be sure to use a jersey needle and use a stretchy stitch, i.e. if you are sewing with a household sewing machine, you should use either a zigzag stitch or the three-part elastic stitch and then all seam allowances again with a zigzag stitch or another appropriate stitch Neaten so they don't fray. In addition to the description, the colorful lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something needs to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern.

Video on processing the front part
You start by sewing the two back pieces together. Neaten the seam allowance and iron it upwards.
Then neaten the side edges and hem of the back part.
Put the back piece aside and take one of the ties and the right front piece. Sew the tie onto the front piece (the pattern will tell you where exactly you have to sew it). We also have a video on how to process the front part of the Marie: click here for the video.
Then fold the strip and a piece of the front part in half and fasten the two sides together. You also sew the end of the ribbon together. In the photo below I have marked with the lines what you need to sew together. Pay particular attention that points A and A, which are labeled in the section, are on top of each other. 
The right front piece can now be sewn to the left front piece. To make sewing easier, do not pull out the ribbon. First, sew sections B and B together (see section). You sew the front pieces together from the shoulder to point A.
Then close corner C. This runs from point A to the side seam. 
Now you can pull out the ribbon, turn the binding ribbon and iron out the edges. Then neaten the side seams, the hem and the attached neckline facing (here: the blue lines). 
Iron the second tie in the middle and twist it around once. One end must remain open so that you can turn it afterwards.
Sew the band to the right side edge at the level of the dividing seam.
Half iron the three small stripes.
Sew the shortest of the three strips to the back neck hole, right sides together.
I then folded the strip over to the left and stitched it on with a narrow edge. Make sure the seam allowance doesn't show through. If the seam allowance is a little too wide, you can trim it accordingly.
We continue with the front neck hole. It is very important that you mark the two points (here: marked by blue dots) with pins.
Then you can place the back piece on top of the front piece, right sides together, and pin the shoulders together. In the photo I marked the drill hole again with two blue dots. The ends of the back neck hole end at these points. Then fold the facing over from the front part.
Close the shoulder seams like the blue lines in the photo. You end up on the points marked 2 pictures earlier.
In the end, the neck hole looks like this on the shoulder.
Next, sew the sides together. I ironed up the hem beforehand and then sewed the sides together. You then iron the seam allowance apart and sew the hem in place.
Finally, the armholes have to be finished with the two strips. Sew the strips together to form a ring and iron it in half.
You now sew these strips on using the same principle as in the neck hole. Sew it on first and distribute the width evenly beforehand.
Then topstitch the seam allowance close to the edge and finally fold the strip inwards and sew it tightly.
Your MARIE is ready!
