Stabilize the neck opening with compression tape

A bias tape is sewn or ironed onto the front and back necklines to stabilize the garment. Sew the bias tape to the neckline of the front and back pieces (in this case, at the yoke) within the seam allowance. Measure the length of the bias tape against your paper pattern to avoid any discrepancies.

This prevents the neckline of your garment from becoming distorted or stretched out.
