Concealed button placket

The special feature of our Hanifa blouse is the concealed button placket on the right front panel, the upper flap, so to speak. This is also prepared by ironing. To do this, iron the second notch from the front edge, wrong sides together.

At the fourth notch, the front edge is ironed again. The previously ironed material remains ironed and folded.

This is what the result looks like after ironing in close-up.

After we've prepared this, notch 1 and notch 3 are now aligned. At this point, the ironed material is ironed back to the front edge. This creates a hidden button placket. Note that the underlap needs to be shortened so it doesn't show through.

Finally, the hidden button placket is stitched in place by sewing a seam that is stitched exactly in the fold of the previously ironed material.

Have lots of fun with it
